What this site collects.

Short version: almost nothing, and nothing without asking.

Visitor numbers

If you agree to it, this site uses Google Analytics to count visits - which pages get read, roughly where people are, and whether they came from a search. It sets a cookie to tell one visit from another. If you decline, Analytics is never loaded at all, and no cookie is set. You can change your mind at any time using the button below.

Advertising

This site advertises on Google. If you agree to cookies, Google Analytics also tells Google Ads whether a visit that began with one of those ads ended in an enquiry, so I can see which ads are worth paying for. It is not used to show you ads elsewhere or to build a profile of you. If you decline, none of this happens.

The contact form

When you press send, your message goes to a small script in my own Google account, which emails it to me. Apart from that email, nothing is kept, and there is no database. If that ever fails, your own email app opens instead, with the details filled in.

Nothing else

No social media pixels, no mailing list, no profiling, and no ads that follow you to other sites. Fonts are served from this site rather than from Google, so no third party sees your visit.

Your choice

Analytics and ad measurement are off unless you turn them on, and you can withdraw that at any time.

Who holds this

Catarina Fidalgo, working in Portugal. Anything about your own data can go through the contact form.

On what basis

Your consent, and nothing else. Analytics and ad measurement run only if you say yes, and you can take that back whenever you like.

What you can ask for

You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and withdraw your consent at any time. Ask through the contact form and I will answer.

How long it is kept

Google Analytics keeps visit data for 14 months and then deletes it. Nothing else is kept, because nothing else is collected.

If you are not happy about it

You can complain to the CNPD, the Portuguese data protection authority, at cnpd.pt.

Questions about any of this can go through the contact form.
